If gap filling is necessary
Gaps up to 5 mm can be filled with resin filler with saw dust from the sanding
Larger gaps from 5-12 mm are filled by  slivers with PVA

Oiled floors is the most common floor finish used globally . Most vegetable based oils are 100% natural. They are easy to apply and the wood looking rich and natural.
